Peter Beck is a lawyer with over 35 years of municipal, land use, and environmental law experience. His private sector practice includes general land use and environmental representation in all types of proceedings af fecting the ownership, use and development of land. His public sector practice includes serving as city attorney for the city of Elk River, Minnesota, and serving as special counsel on environmental, development, and other issues for a number of governmental entities.

Mr. Beck is a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice for Civil Facilitative/Hybrid and for Civil Adjudicative/Evaluative processes. His 30 years of experience representing both public and private sector clients in land use and municipal matters makes him uniquely qualified to serve as a mediator for these types of matters. Mr. Beck's experience includes mediating land use and real estate disputes.

Prior to entering private practice in 1978, Peter served as a staff lawyer for the U.S. Supreme Court.

Peter Beck is a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice for Civil Facilitative/Hybrid and for Civil Adjudicative/Evaluative processes. He is also a Minnesota land use lawyer with more than 30 years of experience representing local governments, property owners, businesses, developers, and citizen groups in a wide range of land use, municipal, environmental, and real estate matters. He is known for his extensive knowledge of land use and municipal law and his ability to bring together adverse interests in complex disputes. His background and his experience make him uniquely qualified to serve as a mediator for the following types of matters:

  • Condemnation and special assessment disputes
  • Environmental review and enforcement disputes
  • Real estate disputes

In addition to mediation, Mr. Beck can assist in the resolution of disputes through other ADR techniques, including early neutral evaluation and neutral fact finding. Mr. Beck is also an experienced hearing officer.
